What is the role of zero sequence current transformer?
When the power system generates zero-sequence ground current, the zero-sequence current transformer is use in conjunction with the relay protection device or signal to activate the device components to achieve protection or monitoring. This allows the zero-sequence current transformer to be use in conjunction with the relay protection device or signal when the power system generates zero-sequence ground current, causing the device components to operate to achieve protection or monitoring.
If a ground fault or other asymmetric fault occurs in the power system, zero sequence current will occur. Zero-sequence current transformers can detect these abnormal currents and trigger protective devices to isolate faults and protect the safe operation of the system.
If an electric shock or leakage fault occurs in the circuit, the secondary side of the transformer will output a zero-sequence current, causing the equipment on the connected secondary line to take protective action (cut off the power, alarm, etc.).
